He is the recipient of the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in 2010 for Engineering Sciences, the NSF Career Award and SAE Ralph Teeter Educational Award in the USA and the Swarnajayanthi Fellowship in India as well as 10 best paper awards in international and national conferences and 6 prizes in design contests that his students and he participated.
